Napier

In this fertile region of vineyards, fruit orchards and sheep farms, Napier stands out elegantly as one of the loveliest cities in New Zealand. Completely rebuilt after the 1931 Hawke´s Bay earthquake, it now boasts one of the most complete collections of Art Deco buildings in the world.

• Kiwi House - At the Kiwi House visitors can see bush geckoes, native land snails and whistling frogs in addition to the unique kiwi bird.

Shopping

The Napier Business District, approximately one mile from the port, is the main shopping area.Wines are very popular items in this famous wine region. At Classic Decor you will find products ranging from bed covers to bicycle seat covers, foot warmers and sheepskin rugs.

Food

Napier offers a wonderful choice of restaurants with the emphasis on New Zealand cuisine. Fresh fish, superior fruits and vegetables are abundant; farmed venison, beef and lamb are excellent. With the award-winning wines of the region, Napier possesses all the ingredients for excellent dining.
